A deep-drawn flange ring, or escutcheon, formed through several draw stages so the material thins evenly and the wall stays free of the scoring and orange peel that show up badly on a polished surface. The outer edge is rolled to remove the sharp trimmed lip, which makes the part safe to handle and gives it a finished appearance where it sits against a wall or panel.

Drawing quality stainless is essential here: ordinary grades work-harden too quickly and split at the punch radius. We use 304 in a drawing temper, anneal between stages when the reduction demands it, and finish with mechanical polishing to a mirror or satin brush as specified.
