A flat circular disc with four symmetrical radial tabs, blanked in a compound die so that the outer profile and the centre feature are produced concentrically in one operation. The tabs are bent in a follow-on station to locate and retain a cylindrical body, replacing a separate clamp and screw.

Symmetry is the critical characteristic on this part: unequal tab lengths cause the assembly to sit off centre. We control it by blanking the full profile in a single hit rather than notching a pre-cut round, and by checking first-off parts on an optical comparator.
